Let’s look at Charmed:

• When the girls ( Piper, Phoebe, Prue and Paige) become adults, find out they are carrying on the family legacy as the Charmed Ones, who willfight supernatural forces.
• They have no living family members who share the legacy who will be able to help them through this change. [They do however come back sometimes when they are conjured]
• They fight crime with the help of their friend cop (Darryl) who doesn’t know the whole story. The cop friend eventually finds out the whole story and continues to cover for them.
• They also are helped out by creatures they encounter. [from Leo a Whitelighter to Balthazar a demon]
• When they don’t know something they go up to the attic and refer to theBook of Shadows that their family left for the girls - with pictures and drawings of all the creatures from the past.

Now let’s look at Grimm:

• Sometime during adulthood (Nick) finds out he is a descendant of theGrimms, who fight supernatural monsters.
• The last family member who had any information to help him out, dies.
• He fights crime [because he’s a police officer, duh] but also has a cop friend (Hank) who goes along with all the craziness despite not fully understanding.
• Nick also becomes friends with one of the creatures (Eddie) to help him figure some things he can’t on his own
• When he doesn’t know something, or is trying to solve a mystery, he goes to the trailer and looks at the book/diary that his aunt left him - with pictures and drawings of all the creatures from the past.

Since the first episode of this tv show I knew it seemed very familiar but I didn’t know why. Only now while watching the third episode did I realize that this is exactly like Charmed. I am a HUGE Charmed fan. I do admit though that it is a very corny tv show with sucky graphics but it’s great. I can re-watch all of them right now. 

Grimm is a show that I’ve loved since the first episode. I really hope it lasts though because I know it has some competition. I haven’t watched any of them yet but I do plan on it and I hope that Grimm is the best. I think it could last because there are so many Grimm’s Fairytales and they are all so interesting.

In comparison to Charmed’s nine seasons, Grimm still has some catching up to do. Let’s see where this goes.
